DIRECTOR OF ESTIMATING

Prepares detailed cost estimates for the repair of various parts and systems for the U.S. Navy, Coast Guard and other vessels. Reviews estimates and manages subordinates. Submits finalized bids to top management for review. Makes risk assessment of each bid package. Requires specialized knowledge relevant to the marine industry, with specific experience in one or more trade. Must possess the ability to estimate labor and material to completely reconstruct every minute operation to accomplish the work effort. Must be able to make independent decisions relative to the magnitude, sequence and scheduling of every aspect of the work to be accomplished. Ability to supervise skilled estimators in the accomplishment of their independent duties, making effective assignments to meet deadlines. Requires the ability to establish and maintain productive working relationships with others. Must be able to perform ship checks. Must be physically able to move around all areas of the ship. Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required. Ten years of verifiable maritime experience required. Ability to obtain DBID's for access to Government Installations. Must be a US Citizen.
